SNAPSHOTS FROM PHOENIX

Kurt and I kicked off summer just right: with a long road trip. We drove down to Phoenix, hit up an awesome workshop, and headed back to the bay with a new website and new friends. To keep myself occupied throughout the super long trip to Phoenix I made it a goal to take one Instagram photo an hour. It doesn't seem like much, but it actually proved to be quite the challenge. It gave me something to look forward to at the end of each hour! Below is a collage of photos from our trip from the Bay Area to Arizona:

I also took several Instagram pics during my time in Phoenix! One of my goals was to get a picture with a cactus, and lucky for me, they were everywhere! A few pics in this collage are from Promise and my fellow workshop attendees:

 Finally, after all our fun in the deserts of Arizona, we made our way back to beautiful, sunny California.  It was the longest road trip I've ever been on before and I am happy I had the best company on the road!  Thankfully, Kurt loves driving and listening to me talk (and sing) for hours on end.

CIRCUS PARTY: HEZEKIAH'S 2ND BIRTHDAY

One of the absolute highlights of my life is being an auntie.  Two years ago, my nephew Hezekiah was born and now I can't imagine life without him!  I talk to my sister on the phone practically everyday and I always make sure to have a few minutes to chat with my nephew too.  Every time I'd ask him if he was excited for his birthday he'd shout, YEEEAAAHHH!!!! Although, I don't think he knew what I was saying, the way I was saying it must have hinted that it was something to be pretty excited about ;)

This past weekend we celebrated my nephew's 2nd birthday with a super AWESOME circus themed party.  It was so much fun!  There were too many sweets and treats to count and fun activities for the kiddies, like face painting and animal balloons!  I helped my sister, who is amazing at party planning, with a lot of the fun details and desserts. She did most of the work, but the cake and bunting below were my handiwork...

A really cute moment happened when the time came to sing happy birthday. Hezekiah is used to praying before meals, so when the cake was placed in front of him he folded his hands and waited for someone to start praying! I'd wanna thank God too if that thing was placed in front of me!

Each of the guests got to dress-up in silly costumes and have their picture taken, so I'll end this post with the birthday boy and his happy family.

VIDEO: MY PHOENIX TRIP IN 2 MINUTES

This time last week I was on my way to Phoenix for the SiteHouse Go Live Event with Promise Tangeman; to say it was AMAZING is an understatement!

I will have a more thorough post on everything later this week. For now, I wanted to share this super cool video by Alejandra Vidal of Imaginale Design.  It really captures the essence of the event. You can catch glimpses of me, Kurt, and my amazing hand (no, really, I'm serious) at 0:31, 1:02, 1:19, and 1:30, as well as in some of the photos at the end. I am still so elated and super grateful that I got to be a part of such a cool event and make so many new friends who totally inspire me!

JUNE 19: ONE YEAR AGO, ONE YEAR LATER

One year ago, I was filled with so much anticipation and excitement...

One year ago, my life changed forever...

One year ago, I married my best friend in the whole wide world!

Thank you Kurt for the most amazing, wonderful, challenging, growth-filled year of my life.  It hasn't always been easy; but you help me be a better me.  And I love you more than words can say.  Happy 1-year anniversary my darling love!

One year later, I went on an 11-hour road trip through the desert with my best friend in the whole wide world!

I am so SUPEREXCITED to announce the I am in Phoenix, Arizona to attend a two-day workshop with the amazingly talented designer PROMISE TANGEMAN to design my very own customized Showit website!

BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!  If you want to really see just what exactly I'll be doing, the event will be broadcast live online for you to follow along!  AHHHH!

So, with all that, I just wanted to say THANK YOU to Kurt for being my lover, bestest friend, and soulmate.  I wouldn't be here without your support.  Marriage is so much more than I could have ever imagined it would be and I am so thankful to know that I get to spend the rest of my life loving, growing, and laughing with you. And making a cool website together. ;)

YASMIN'S PRETTY LITTLE PICTURES

Warning: The following paragraph is basically a social media explosion.

I just wanted to share with y'all that I recently started a tumblr blog! It is basically pictures from my phone taken with Instagram.  I love the Instagram app because it lets me take pictures on-the-go and share them with all my Facebook friends and Twitter followers. All my Instagram photos are compiled onto my tumblr blog so I can view them on my laptop too, in addition to viewing them on my phone via the Instagram app. My tumblr will be like a mini-blog of my daily life.

Whew! That was a lot of lingo. It's crazy to think that none of that would have made any sense to someone 10 years ago.
